pupdate
This week has been an atypical one for me - we just reached a week of having our nearly 10-week-old puppy, Sunny, home. It’s been an adjustment for all of us - including Kirby, our senior Basset Hound. We are really enjoying having a puppy around and he’s been pretty “easy”, but I would not classify it as a walk in the park by any means. Here’s a photo of our new little love.
what i’m loving
this week, I’ve been trying out some new things and I’ll link them for you if you’re interested.
*links below are affiliate links, which means that I earn a small commission (at no cost to you) when you make a purchase.
1. milk hydro grip 12-hour hydrating gel skin tint
I saw
put this skin tint on in a GRWM this week and I was instantly wowed by what it did to her skin. the coverage looked nice compared to other skin tints and I’m a big fan of milk makeup, as I have dry skin and most of their products are hydrating. I purchased shade 5 and have been loving it this week! here’s a photo of me with ONLY one layer of the skin tint on my face. it does a great job evening out my complexion and it does last!2. owala smoothsip slider (special edition) coffee tumbler
i have been loving my owala water bottles because they close completely (and do not spill in my work bag) and keep my ice water cold all day long. i noticed they were having a birthday bash this week and releasing special edition prints, so i decided to try this adorable coffee tumbler, which is ceramic inside.
it’s still in stock and will sell out. i’ve been reaching for it nonstop because it holds 20 oz, locks in place (and does not spill, like my water bottles, and is obviously adorable.
3. lawless forget the filler overnight lip mask
i will die on this hill forever - there is NO BETTER LIP MASK than this one. and i’ve used what i think is all of them. my lips get so dry all year long - to the point where I get a pink mark above my top lip like kids do. this is the only thing that’s remedied my dryness and keeps my lips supple and giving a slight plumping effect.
my favorite “scent/flavor” is birthday cake, followed by juicy watermelon and sweet dreams. i’ve purchased these 20+ times over the years and use them at all times of the day.
reading
i’ve been into audiobooks lately - listening to them while playing with Sunny, doing things around the house, or on my short commute.
I recently finished The Perfect Marriage, which I rated a 3.75 on Fable (my recent-ish replacement for Goodreads). It was an okay suspense read but a bit predictable.
I’m now reading Everyone Here is Lying, which has me hooked after the first handful of chapters. I’ll keep you posted with my thoughts once I finish it.
That’s it for this week’s edition of the weekly roundup — short and sweet! I’ll be back with more updates next week.
I’d love it if you subscribed to my substack and/or shared it with others who might like my content, too.
